The Assembly passed a censure motion against (LIP) today for allegedly using against MLA Harpartap

The motion was moved during the Question Hour by who, along with other MLAs, strongly objected to the use of such words in the House. Simarjit, his brother and LIP Balwinder, supported by section of leaders, objected to the censure motion.

The ruckus started when Simarjit was asking a supplementary to a question raised in the House by Khaira, who had raised a question seeking to know about the fat content and if there were different purchase rates of milk.

Simarjit, who had conducted a surprise check at the Verka milk plant in two months ago, today reiterated his allegation inside the assembly alleging that Verka had supplied milk low on fat and solids not fat (SNF) than what it claimed on the packets. He then alleged that the milk mafia was flourishing in and sought to know what action the had taken on this.

As some of the ruling MLAs were up on their legs to counter him, Simarjit had a heated verbal duel with Congress Ajnala during which he allegedly used some unparliamentary words against him. took strong objection and expunged it.

said merely expunging unparliamentary words were not enough and sought to move censure motion against Simarjit, which was allowed.

The motion was then passed by the House.
