Ever since the news of Sara Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor’s Bollywood debuts broke out, people started drawing comparisons between the two along with Ananya Panday. Not many may be aware that Sara, Janhvi and Ananya are actually very good friends and the trio even spend time together on lunch or parties. Janhvi was recently asked about competition with Sara and Ananya, who will make their debut in upcoming months, and her reply was mature and makes sense.
In an interview with DNA, when Janhvi was asked if she senses any competition between her, Sara, Ananya and Tara, she said, “I don’t know why everyone is pitting us against each other. I guess people enjoy doing that. Competition is a bad thing if you make it sound that way.”
Janhvi even raised a question about sexism behind this question saying that such questions are only asked to women. ‘Dhadak’ girl even asked as why no one asks such questions to her co-star Ishaan Khatter. “It’s also odd because I think you only pit women against each other. Why is no one asking Ishaan the same question — if he’s feeling the sting of competition, too! People love pitting women against each other. But in reality, we can be happy and celebrate each other’s success. It’s easy to co-exist if you are doing a good job.”
Janhvi said she is excited for Sara and Ananya’s Bollywood debut and thinks that the two-star kids will be magic on screen. “As an audience member, I’m excited to see Sara, Ananya and Tara. I haven’t interacted with Tara, but I have spoken to Sara and Ananya and they’re so full of life. They are amazing people and I’m excited to see them on screen because I’m sure they will be magic. It’s good to see so much new talent coming into the industry.”
On the work front, Janhvi has signed Karan Johar’s multi-starrer ‘Takht’. The film will hit the screens in 2020.
