GREATER NOIDA: Two murder accused were nabbed near Community Centre at Harola after an
exchange of fire with police on Sunday night. Two pistols and a country-made gun were seized from them.
On July 20, the duo had killed a man when they were followed by a few people while trying to snatch the bag off a man. To escape from the group of people who were chasing them, they shot at the crowd and a man was killed. “They open fire only when they are cornerned,” said a police officer.
Avneesh Kumar, circle officer 1, explained that on July 20, around 9.15 pm, the accused, Dev and Uday Veer, were caught by the public when both of them tried to snatch a bag from an electrical shop owner in Sector 9.
“When their attempt to snatch the bag failed, they fled and some 15 passersby who saw the incident ran after him. After running for around 700m, Dev turned around and shot at the mob to scare them. But it unfortunatelly killed a man,” Kumar added.
