Indore: The police arrested a man with brown sugar and recovered Rs 2 lakh from his possession on Monday. City crime branch police are also looking for the person from whom he procured brown sugar for supplying to others. Additional Superintendent of Police (crime) Amarendra Singh said Golu alias Nirmal Patel was arrested from Banganga police station area.
Patel was waiting there for delivering the brown sugar to a purchaser but was arrested before it. “Golu who was involved in drug peddling with his cousin Ravi alias Kala, resident of Pandhrinath police station area, is a listed criminal. Golu who lives in Ujjain would visit Indore everyday to deliver brown sugar. He would procure the drug from Ravi and earned Rs 700 everyday for delivering one packet,” Singh said.
The police also said that Golu who operated an autorickshaw in Ujjain was going through financial crisis as he would splurge money on his female friends. “He joined Ravi to earn extra income by illegal means. We are searching for Ravi in the same case,” police said. Crime branch police have handed over Gollum to Banganga police station staff for further action.
