C’garh CEO issues warning to DEOs

Chhattisgarh Chief Electoral officer Subrat Sahoo irritated over not picking up phones by several District Collector cum District Electoral officers have warned through a letter to receive the calls from Office of CEO and reply back.

In a strong worded letter to all the district collectors and district electoral officers, Chief Electoral Officer Subrat Sahoo has stated that for the upcoming State assembly general election 2018 all the relevant actions and works are being undertaken on priority.

Related to the State General Election, all the directives and circulars issued by the Election Commission of India is being provided to you all through e-mail, posts and WhatsApp, on which you have to act and provided the latest information within the specified time limit, the letter states.

It further states, as the implementation of the directives/circulars of ECI has to be done, you are being called on your telephone or mobile phone. Recently, it has been found that when office of Chief Electoral Officer or authorised officials of office of CEO through their mobile phone had contacted, it was found that no calls have been received or even the call has not been returned after sometime.

It is highly objectionable and lax attitude as it is affecting the election works.

The letter further states that it is hoped that form next time onwards, when any call from the office of CEO or any officer of office connects a phone call, it has to be received. If due to unavoidable circumstances, if the call is not received, after sometime, call can be returned, so that messages from ECI is duly received and no work regarding to election comes to a halt.
