BlackBerry confirms KEY2 LE launch at IFA 2018

NEW DELHI: BlackBerry is all set to launch its next smartphone at the upcoming technology trade show IFA 2018 in Berlin. The company will be unveiling the BlackBerry KEY2 LE on August 30 and has posted an official teaser of the same on Twitter.
It is expected that the BlackBerry KEY2 LE will be a mid-segment smartphone and the company is planning to offer high-end specifications at a lower price tag with the launch of the smartphone.
The teaser shared shows the textured rear panel of the smartphone. The image shows that the KEY2 LE will be identical to the KEY 2 in terms of its design aspects. The smartphone will come with the same polycarbonate body and QWERTY keyboard.
It is also expected that the company might use plastic frame instead of the metal one for the KEY2 LE. It is also said that the smartphone will come in various colour options. The BlackBerry KEY2 LE is expected to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor paired with 4GB. The smartphone is said to come with dual rear camera setup with 13MP and 5MP modules.
The handset is said to come with a 4.5-inch display with 1080x1620 pixel resolution. The display is said to be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top. Beneath the display, there will be the traditional QWERTY keyboard. The smartphone is expected to run Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out-of-the-box.
The smartphone is expected to measure 150.25 x 71.8 x 8.35 mm and be backed by a 3000 mAh battery. In terms of connectivity it is expected to offer 4G, VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.
Earlier this month, BlackBerry launched two smartphones in India. Dubbed Evolve and Evolve X the smartphone comes with a price tag of Rs 24,990 and Rs 34,990 respectively. These are the first BlackBerry smartphones to come with wireless fast charging support.
