ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) The White House flag was returned to half-staff Monday afternoon in honor of Senator John McCain after President Donald Trump signed a proclamation to keep the flag at half-staff until the day of McCain's interment.

Trump issued a statement saying, "Despite our differences on policy and politics, I respect Senator John McCain's service to our country." The flag had been lowered to half-staff on Sunday after McCain's death on Saturday, but was raised to full-staff again on Monday morning.
