India will have two medals in women’s singles badminton

While Saina Nehwal fell at the semifinal hurdle at the Asian Games, PV Sindhu went one better and will be competing for gold in women’s singles badminton.

Saina lost against Chinese Taipei’s world no. 1 Tai Tzu Ying for the tenth time on the trot, going down 17-21, 14-21 and settling for a bronze.

Sindhu, meanwhile, got the better of Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi 21-17 15-21 21-10 in the other semifinal and will be taking on Tzu Ying for a shot at the gold medal.

Benzema, Bale score in Real’s 4-1 victory

Karim Benzema scored twice, Gareth Bale and Sergio Ramos also got on the score sheet as Real Madrid came back from a goal down to defeat Girona 4-1 in La Liga.

Chelsea and Watford joined Liverpool to be perfect after three games in the Premier League season, with the three teams having won their opening three encounters.

Inter Milan, meanwhile, slipped to a 2-2 draw against Torino in Serie A, despite having led the game 2-0 at one point.
