Mumbai: On the occasion of the 125th anniversary of historic address of Swami Vivekananda to the Parliament of World Religions, the second World Hindu Congress (WHC) will be held at Chicago between September 7 to 9. More than 2000 successful personalities across the globe will discuss, debate and finalise strategies for three days to develop roadmap for boosting the profile of the Hindu community on the world stage.
Sanjay Kaul, Coordinator of WHC, while speaking with The Free Press Journal said, “Hindu community today is experiencing a major resurgence around the world. We are making major contributions in sciences, technology, economics, and are running world class corporations, building a strong footprint in the political arena around the globe.” He added, “Most of these have been individual successes stories. The next big step is to build these individual successes into a collective force that can make its presence felt on the world stage. WHC is the major event towards achieving this target.”
“We are committed to the idea to move the Hindu society into the 21st century and beyond by providing a global platform to deliberate and devise workable and tangible solutions to the challenges being faced by Hindus throughout the world,” said Kaul, former president of Kashmiri Overseas Association. He clarified that it is not a religious conference. It is a gathering of highly successful Hindus with an opportunity to showcase their success stories, network with like-minded people from the global community, and to discuss issues of importance to the community with tangible outcomes.
The theme envisioned for the second WHC is the Hindu principle of Sumantrite Suvikrante — think collectively, act valiantly. Among those attending the congress include spiritual gurus Dalai Lama, Sri Sri Ravishankar and prominent dignitaries like Venkiaiah Naidu, VP, Nitin Gadkari, union minister of road transport and highways, Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, chief of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Governor of Bali, Prime Minister of Mauritius, Vice President of Surinam, bollyowood actor Anupam Kher. PM Narendra Modi is likely to attend the Congress.
