‘Stone Pelting ‘ festival held in Uttarakhand with fruits & flowers
Source: TNNThe Bagwal festival, famous for its annual ritual of stone pelting, was held in Kumaon on Sunday on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. After the intervention of the Uttarakhand High Court in 2013, the stones in the festival have been replaced with flowers and fruits. However despite the ban, there were reports that some people still pelted stones and some got injured as a result.
