AHMEDABAD: Police arrested one
Mohit Chabra, the ex boyfriend of a law student, on Monday, for sending her lewd
messages and pictures using a fake account. Cyber cell officials of the city crime branch said they have booked Chabra under sections of the
IT Act.

Jhala said the girl, a resident of Vejalpur had filed a complaint alleging that she is getting lewd messages and pictures on her social media account.
“We approached the service providers and got the
IP address of the device from which the messages and images were sent. The address was of that of Mohit Chabra of Satellite,” said DCP Jhala.
“During interrogation of the accused it came to light that both the complainant and the accused used to study in the same college and had relations since 2013. However, they split up in 2016. After this, Chabra began sending lewd pictures and messages to the girl’s social media account and also to her mail,” said a cyber cell official.
Cyber cell officials said that the accused has admitted that he had created a fake social media account and also a fake e-mail account to harass the girl by sending objectionable images and messages.
