Neeraj Chopra: 20-year-old strikes gold in javelin in Asiad 2018

Neeraj Chopra lived up to the expectations of delivering in big-ticket events as he won the Gold in Men’s javelin throw event comfortably. Chopra’s effort of 88.06 metres set a new national record for India as well. This was India’s eighth Gold medal at the Asian games 2018. The Indian Olympic Association had reposed their faith in the young lad when he was made the flag-bearer of the Indian contingent at the opening ceremony of the Asian Games 2018 being held at Jakarta-Palembang.
