Every citizen has constitutional right to get justice: CJI

It is constitutional right of every citizen of India to get justice. It is necessary to have  judicial infrastructure for it. Physical infrastructure building is important along with it but there is need for intellectual infrastructure also, said Chief Justice of India, Justice Dipak Misra. He was addressing the dedication ceremony of new building of Chhattisgarh State Judicial Academy at premises of Chhattisgarh High Court on Saturday.

Justice Misra laid stress on knowledge and skill said that each judge should work within the constitution and be sensitive.

CJI said that with new building for Judicial Academy, it would provide a better place for imparting training to the judges. All the judges should have complete knowledge of all the new laws of country. He stated that all the cases should be dealt with in the constitutional framework, impartial and decision should be given with complete understanding. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh said that for conceiving the idea of good governance the judicial process should be impartial, transparent and readiness is necessary. Government of Chhattisgarh is providing all basic facilities for judicial administration continuously. Law and Legal affairs department budget was just Rs 16 crore after formation of state which has risen to Rs 641 crores. The judicial officers’ number from 102 rose to 450. It is also lone State where commercial court has been established. Through State Legal Service Authority, free legal services are being extended to poor. Chhattisgarh High Court Chief Justice Ajay Kumar Tripathi introduced the Chief Justice of India as a thinker, writer and poet.

Chhattisgarh State Judicial Academy chairman Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra gave the welcome address. Justice M M Shrivastava proposed vote of thanks. Statue of Swami Vivekananda was unveiled in the academy premises.
