Known for its throaty growl and strong performance in specific Porsche and Subaru models, the boxer is a gem of an engine.

It is respected by many car enthusiasts, and has plenty of upsides, but there are also some downsides.

Just a small downside

While the boxer engine is a sublime example of automotive engineering, improving the overall performance and handling characteristics of a car, it is expensive to produce and cannot be used in smaller cars.
