K’mal DSP convicted in DA case; assets to be confiscated

The Special Judge, Vigilance, Baleswar, convicted former Inspector of Police, Police Control Room, Bhubaneswar, and currently Deputy Superintendent of Police, Kandhamal, in connection with Baleswar Vigilance case in 2002 over possession of disproportionate assets (DA).

The court also ordered for confiscation of disproportionate properties to the tune of Rs 6,93,319 of  Nayak.

Nayak’s assets were raided on August 13, 2002, on the strength of search warrants issued by the court of CJM, Baleswar. On completion of the enquiry, a case was registered. During investigation, prima facie evidence was well made out and chargesheet was submitted against Nayak for possession of disproportionate assets to his known sources of income.
