The VSS Nagar Unnayan Parishad on Saturday demanded that the newly-constructed hospital at VSS Nagar be made functional with appointment of doctors and paramedical staff and procurement of required equipments at the earliest.

A team comprising Ward 11 Corporator Rashmita Mohanty, Parishad vice-president Er Shiba Prasad Mishra, general secretary Dillip Dashsharma and treasurer Maheshwar Biswal and Ajay Kumar Jena met BMC Chief Medical Officer Dr Nirod Kumar Sahoo and Deputy Commissioner (Project) Laltendu Sahoo and placed the demand. In response, the two officers assured to take required steps for making the hospital functional soon.

Notably, the BMC has constructed a building for running a hospital in the VSS Nagar but it has not been made functional due to lack of doctors, staffs and equipments.
