Russo Brothers may direct film adaption of 'Cherry'

"Avengers: Infinity War" directors Joe and Anthony may direct the adaptation of Nico Walker's novel "Cherry".

The Brothers' production company is close to lock a deal to acquire the rights to Walker's just-published book.

The story, based on the author's life, follows an Iraq War veteran who returns home with undiagnosed PTSD, falls into opioid addiction, and begins robbing banks.

Walker was caught in 2011 and is scheduled to be released in 2020.

The film's screenplay will be written by Jessica Goldberg, who is currently writing another movie, "Exit West".

The Brothers, are best known for Marvel films "America: The Winter Soldier", "America: Civil War" and the summer tentpole, "Avengers: Infinity War".

The duo is currently shooting for the untitled 4.
