Doctor found dead in BBSR rly station

Tension prevailed at the railway station here after a dead body of a doctor was found lying on a platform track on Saturday morning.

The deceased, identified as Rabindranath Rath, had been posted in the paediatric department of the Municipality Hospital here being recruited on a contractual basis after his retirement from Government service.

The Government Railway Police (GRP) which began investigating into the incident were yet to be sure whether it was a case of murder or suicide.

Rath’s family members said he had received a phone call from someone at around 9 pm on Friday, following which he left for the railway station. The CCTVs installed on the platform captured the doctor moving on platform no. 1 with a water bottle. But later, his dead body with multiple injuries was found on the railway track, sources said.

His family members said he had no known enemies, but they suspected it to be a case of murder. Interestingly, in the mobile phone of the doctor, all the calls received before 10 pm on Friday have been deleted.
