DMK working president MK Stalin on Sunday has applied for the election of party's president. After the demise of the late Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, president and treasurer post for the party still remains vacant. DMK announced that its general council meet will be held on August 28.
MK Stalin along with Durai Murugan went to the memorial M Karunanidhi and read out the content in the application after which they went to Anna Arivalayam and submitted the application.
As many as 65 general council members have adopted resolutions to recommend MK Stalin for the party's chief.
