BHOPAL : Met department has forecast heavy rain in Chhattarpur, Satna, Rewa, Datia, Bhind, Morena, and Tikamgarh districts. Light rains are likely to occur at Rewa, Sagar, Shahdol, Bhopal and Chambal divisions. Heavy to extremely heavy rains are expected in isolated pockets of Northeast Madhya Pradesh in the coming days as a low pressure has formed over Northwest Bay adjoining West Bengal and Odisha.
Gradually, intensity of rain is likely to increase over the western and southwestern districts such as Guna, Ratlam, Ujjain, Bhopal, Indore and Dewas. The eastern and northeastern districts such as Rewa, Satna, siddhi, Damoh, Umaria, Jabalpur and Mandla may receive heavy showers in the coming days.
In last 24 hours, Chhattarpur recorded 5cm rainfall followed by Naugaon 4cm and Ajaygarh, Sidhi, Morena and Gohad each recorded 3cm rainfall. On Saturday, Tikamgarh recorded 16mm rainfall, Damoh 12mm, Mandla 11mm; Bhopal 4mm; Raisen, Khajuraho each 5mm; Sidhi and Rewa recorded 17mm and 14mm rain respectively. Light rain continued in city for the second consecutive day on Saturday.
According to meteorological department, a cyclonic circulation was seen over north central parts of state. Even though the axis of monsoon trough has shifted towards north, the effect of this cyclonic circulation and the Monsoon trough will be felt by the northern districts of the state for another 24 to 48 hours.
