At least 300 guests were sound asleep when a black bear walked into the lobby of historic Colorado Hotel. According to Reed Rowley, vice president of Stanley Hotel, the bear figured out how to open the door and climbed over furniture to enter the lobby. However, there was no damage caused due to this and the bear walked out of the lower level door after the furniture got rearranged. The hotel in Estes Park was opened in 1909 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was also known for inspiring Stephen King to write ‘The Shining’, 1980 horror movie.
