This Gujarat shop is selling gold rakhis with pictures of PM Modi, Yogi Adityanath engraved

A jewellery shop in Gujarat textiles and diamond polishing hub of Surat has upped the style quotient by selling rakhis made of gold with profile pictures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani engraved on them.

They rakhis certainly don’t come cheap but with Raksha Bandhan just a day away, 47 of the 50 gold rakhis designed this year have been sold out, the jewellery shop owner Milan said. He added that orders were still pouring in. Each rakhi costs between Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 70,000.

“Our Prime Minister Modi, Chief Ministers of Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh have done very good work for our country and they inspire millions across the world,” Milan said.

These leaders have inspired women, he said.

“Women are visiting our store to buy these rakhis as they feel inspired from these leaders. They feel that their brothers will also earn name and fame in their respective fields.”

At least one customer seemed to back Milan’s claim. “By tying this Narendra Modi rakhi, I would bless my brother to do something great like Prime Minister Modi,” a customer said.
