Also, Nungesser identified the 2018 Champions of Tourism, each a great ambassador for assisting in promoting travel to Louisiana.

Robideaux influenced Lafayette’s talent and infrastructures to introduce CREATE (Creative, Recreation, Entertainment, Arts, Tourism, Economy), an initiative utilizing the parish’s culture to further diversify the economy.
A new and better Ruston Sports Complex is anticipated to start in March 2019. The 36-field complex is hoped to generate over a billion dollars in the next 18 years. As it can host six different sports at the same time, the first event will be the 2019 Dixie Youth Baseball World Series.
The Sterlington Sports Complex, with 12 fields – five high school baseball fields, five softball fields and two T-ball fields – inaugurated in May 2018. The complex is the only one of its kind north of Interstate 20 and is completely equipped to host tournaments year-round.
