Nagaland Governor P.B. Acharya on Friday urged students from the North-East in Dakshina Kannada to return to their home States and engage in development activities.
He was addressing a gathering at Alva’s Educational institutions in Moodbidri.
Mr. Acharya said that though the North-East is rich in natural resources, the region is lagging behind in development.
Educated youth should engage in transforming their families, communities and society towards development, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Alva’s Foundation Managing Trustee Vivek Alva said that Mr. Acharya’s contribution in the development of the North-East was considerable. Director of Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad, P. Nagbhushan and others were present.
