Three persons were killed on the spot and two others sustained grevious injuries after two two-wheelers collided head-on at Ammanancheri near Walajapet in Vellore district on Friday.

Police said that Venketesan (30), Chidambaram (30) and Kumar (50) of Banavaram near Arakkonam were riding triples on a two-wheeler from Banavaram to Walajahpet.
It is said that the three persons were going to Walajahpet in search of work.
When the trio neared Ammanancheri, their two-wheeler collided head-on with another rode by Murali (24) of Tiruvannamalai district with his friend Sivarajan in pillion coming in the opposite direction.
In the impact of the collision, Kumar, Venketesan and Sivarajan died on the spot. Murali and Chidambaram sustained serious injuries.
The two injured were rushed to the Wallajahpet district headquarters hospital.
Later, Murali was shifted to the Vellore government medical college hospital and Chidambaram was admitted to a private hospital in Vellore.
On information, Walajahpet police reached the spot, recovered the bodies of Kumar, Venketesan and Sivarajan and sent them to the Walajapet government hospital for post-mortem.
Walajapet police have registered a case and are investigating.
