Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Friday said close to 600 extra metro trips will be run on the weekend to facilitate the increased ridership due to Raksha Bandhan.
“Delhi Metro will run 253 extra train trips on Saturday, on the eve of Raksha Bandhan. Whereas 598 extra train trips will be run on August 26 — on the day of Raksha Bandhan, ” said a DMRC official.
“On August 26, Metro services will begin from 6 a.m. on sections where services otherwise begin from 8 a.m. on Sundays. The sections include Jahangirpuri-Samaypur Badli, Mundka-City Park, Badarpur Border-Escorts Mujesar, Majlis Park-Lajpat Nagar and Janakpuri West-Botanical Garden corridors,” said the official.
“Additional guards and customer facilitation agents will also be deployed at major stations to help and guide commuters on these two days. In addition, extra personnel will also be deployed to handle the increased load on the ticketing system wherever required,” the official added.
