Man, wife commit suicide aggrieved over loss of sons

Coimbatore: A 58-year-old man and his 53-year-old wife committed suicide by consuming poison at their house at Rukmani Colony in Veerakeralam on Saturday. The deceased were identified as K Udhaya Suryan, who was working as a driver in a private school and his wife Shanthi. “Their elder son Gandharaj had committed suicide by consuming poison in 2008. Their second son Ashok Kumar was killed in an accident at Vadavalli a month ago. After losing their two sons, the couple was depressed. They consumed poison on Friday evening. They have left a suicide note saying that they took the extreme step following the loss of their sons,” a police officer said. TNN
