Interest of State paramount: CM

Chief Minister Raghubar Das while presiding over a review meeting of the Department of Transport and Commerce on Friday told officials to study the better work system of other States and implement it in Jharkhand.

“Whatever is best in interest of State should be done. You need not to hesitate in implementing best practices. Manpower and other requirements will be met in all Depa-rtments. At same time updated status of manpower should be analysed and managed as per demand,” the CM said.

The Chief Minister at the same time directed officials to conduct raids against manufacturing and packaging of illegal liquor. “Keep the names of those who give information confidential and reward them as well. The rule of law should be prevailed in society. Campaigns against prevention of illegal liquor business and the evil of drinking must take place,” he added.

He at the same time expressed concern over lowering revenue and directed the Departments to work for it due to its role in strengthen the economy and plan funding in the State. “Regular reviews are required. If needed, make changes in the policy,” said Das.

Transport Minister CP Singh, Chief Secretary Sudhir Tripathi, Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) Sukhdev Singh, Additional Chief Secretary (Commercial Taxes) KK Khandelwal, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Sunil Kumar Barnwal, Transport Secretary Pravin Toppo, Excise Commissioner Bhor Singh Yadav and other senior officials were present in the review.
