Many bureaucrats, including the Chief Secretary, were “proceeding on leave without informing the elected government,” alleged government sources on Friday. According to government sources, these officials, including the Divisional Commissioner and the Secretary of the Education Department, were “proceeding on leave without informing the respective ministers at the behest of the Lieutenant Governor.” A bureaucrat said any employee is entitled to leave in case of medical and accident-related issues. “One officer has broken her leg while another is down with fever. What about trips made by the CM and his deputy who go for therapy sessions to other cities or pilgrimages abroad?” the officer contended.
