City crime branch nabs robbers; valuables recovered

The crime branch police of Bhopal have nabbed two miscreants near Subhash Nagar under bridge who were involved in robbery and recovered a mobile phone from their possession in the evening on Thursday.

Police said that acting on a tip off two miscreants were nabbed near Subhash Nagar under bridge and when they were searched robbed mobile phone was recovered from their possession.

The two were identified as Rohan Vasudev (19) of Chola Mandir and Shabbir Ali alias Andra (25) of Irani Dera. They have burgled a pair of gold ear rings, a gold chain and Rs 16000 from Nariyakheda around a month ago.

Later, in the investigation they confessed robbery of mobile phone around two months ago from a woman shopkeeper in Koh-e-Fiza while she was at the Everyday Shop.  The two were nabbed and Aprila scooter was recovered from their possession which was owned by Shabbir. Police would investigate that the scooter was burgled or it was bought from money collected from robbery and other crimes.

Rohan and Shabbir are habitual criminals. Shabbir holds past crime record he was booked for several robberies in Madhya Pradesh and in other states committed along with his relatives.

He was booked for robbery and two dozen burglaries in Bengaluru city in Karnataka.  He was also booked by Hanumanganj, Aishbagh and Govindpura police for robberies. He is wanted in several crimes and warrants have been issued in his name. Rohan has been booked by Hanumanganj and Govindpura police in half a dozen crimes.
