Ujjain: Ujjain Municipal Corporation (UMC) is continuously targeting big property tax defaulters. On Friday assistant property tax officer Jafar Alam Ansari recovered Rs 5 lakh from Omkar ginning factory. Officials said that property recovery campaign will continue.UMC officials also informed that efforts of maintaining cleanliness to upgrade the city’s standing in cleanliness survey are also being made.
Health officer Purushottam Dube, Dr Lalita Sharma of pollution control board, food inspector Vikramsingh Pandya and other officials concerned inspected shops located in Mahakal area and penalised shopkeepers for filthiness and using banned polythene bags.
The UMC team recovered Rs 17,500 from shopkeepers as fine. UMC’s stray cattle catching team under the guidance Bandhan Bali and Vikas Shinde captured 26 stray cattle and sent them to Ratnakhedi cowshed, UMC officials said. UMC officials also informed that two luxury buses will be dedicated to the public by energy minister Paras Jain under surta seva yojana and amrit yojana from Ujjain to Bhopal.
