To provide a sturdy platform to the talented specially abled persons, a Mehendi event was organised in city here on Friday.  The event was organised by an NGO Uday Educational and Public Welfare Committee, Bhopal.

The NGO basically works for the specially abled persons. On Friday, the Bhopalites witnessed an unusual event wherein the talented specially abled were putting on mehendi of the mehendi lovers.

They created beautiful designs on the hands of the Bhopalites leaving them totally enthralled. Around three specially abled persons participated in the unusual event. As the celebration of Raksha Bandhan has already gripped the city the participants were able to showcase their talent in this creative field.

Vice President of the NGO Santawna Aras told The Pioneer, “The biggest challenge of our lives is to change the mentality of people around. Whatever may be case, we are not treated normally. So to give the society a chance to look at our talent and not physical disability, we organised this event.”

“It was a delight to see that the Bhopalites came forward to give the talented people an opportunity to showcase their talent,” she added. Such events are organised for their empowerment and to make them economically independent, said Santawna.

It is to be noted that such an event was organised for the first time by Uday NGO. The specially abled persons are trained under the Prime Minister Skill Development Scheme (under Persons with Disabilities).

The Bhopalites were overwhelmed to watch the creative skills of the specially abled persons. The innovative and different mehendi designs astonished them. “The participants ofcourse earned from the event. It was fun and so similar events will be organised in future,” Santawna said.
