The City police on Friday felicitated fishermen who had rescued many from the flood-stricken areas of the State in the past week. As many as 372 fishermen from the fishing villages of Thumba, Vizhinjam, Poonthura, Valiathura, Vettucaud and Adimalathura were presented citations and Onam gifts by District Police Chief (Thiruvananthapuram city) P. Prakash at Thumba and Vizhinjam.
The police had transported 81 boats and 372 fishermen from the city to the affected region.
