Expressing shock at DVAC making no progress in the corruption complaints lodged against Ministers, Deputy CM and CM, Stalin said the ADGP led Vishaka Committee on Thursday commenced its internal probe into the sexual harassment charges levelled by woman SP against the joint director of DVAC who is investigating the corruption complaints. 

The victimised woman SP has been shunted out of the DVAC, while no action has been initiated against the joint director, Stalin said, wondering how justice would be done if an officer facing such a serious charge probes the corruption allegations? What action would be taken against corruption?” Stalin asked, advising the government to appoint an honest IG as joint director of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Department. 

Recalling the Income Tax raids conducted during RK Nagar by-election and a report the I-T watchdog had sent to then chief secretary of the state, the DMK working president demanded that the report be made public and action taken on the same. Alleging that the government had transferred an additional DSP to DVAC to probe the charges against Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam only to dilute the case, Stalin said that a SP rank officer should probe the corruption charges against the Deputy CM and the VAC director, chief secretary and state vigilance commissioner should take measures to safeguard justice.
