Engineering student held for saying professor ‘available’

HYDERABAD: An engineering student was arrested from his Badangpet house on Friday after he posted the mobile number of a woman faculty member of his college along with her photos on a classifieds portal inviting men for sex. Cybercrime sleuths of Rachakonda commissionerate, who recovered a mobile phone of V Bhanu Prakash, 21, along with other incriminating evidence, said the accused nursed a grudge against the assistant professor after she cautioned him to leave a class of his friend Akhil.

It all began on April 12 when Prakash came down to Akhil’s classroom. The professor, supervising Akhil’s class, told him to leave immediately angering Prakash who picked up an argument with her.

Two days later, he downloaded her photos from FB account and uploaded them on Locanto free classifieds portal inviting men for sex chat and sex. He even mentioned the rates on the website: Rs 1,200 for sex chat, Rs 200 per nude picture and Rs 5,000 for direct sex. The professor began getting umpteen phone calls and messages and as it got worse, she approached the police on Thursday.

The accused was produced before a court and sent to judicial custody.
