PUNE: The crime branch on Thursday night busted a
sex racket being run by a man and his son under the guise of a massage parlour in the
Swargate area and rescued three women after arresting the duo.
An officer of the social security cell of the crime branch said the police received a tip-off that two persons were running a prostitution racket in their massage parlour in a housing society in the Swargate area. “We first sent a decoy customer to the massage parlour. After getting confirmation from him, our team raided the massage parlour,” he said.
The officer said the massage parlour was owned by a 58-year-old man and his son. “They had forced three women into prostitution,” he said.
The duo have been arrested under Section 370 (buying or disposing of any person as a slave) of the
Indian Penal Code and the relevant sections of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act.
