Hospital staffers thrash teen for theft bid

KOLKATA: Staff members of J B Roy State Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital in north Kolkata on Thursday apprehended a youth who allegedly tried to steal a mobile of a doctor and beat him up mercilessly before the police could rescue and arrest him.
According to a source, the youth, identified as Tubai Kushari (18), tried to snatch a mobile from a doctor at the Ayurvedic hospital on Thursday morning around 9.30am. When the doctor raised a voice, patients nearby caught him and staff members of the hospital rushed to the spot. The staffers tied Kushari to a bed and thrashed him before the police arrived at the hospital and arrested him.

Locals said Kushari was an alcoholic and regularly stole to fund his addiction.
