Salaff C2 Marries A Lamborghini Gallardo Chassis With Custom Bodywork

Carlos Salaff isn’t exactly a household name, but he spent nearly a decade working at Mazda and reportedly influenced a number of models including the MX-5 and Mazda3 as well as the Nagare and Furai concepts.

Salaff left the automaker in 2012 and eventually founded his own company which aims to produce a range of supercars known as the Caden Collection. As noted by Motor Authority, the company has plans to introduce its first model at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

Called the C2, the car is based on the Lamborghini Gallardo and features a unique design that has little in common with the donor vehicle. While the styling will likely provoke strong reactions, the car has a unique front fascia with an angular middle section and carbon fiber accents. The bespoke styling continues further back as the model has been equipped with new doors and massive vents behind the front wheels.

Other notable styling features include aerodynamic mirror supports and a custom rear end. The latter has hexagonal accents, a diffuser and a massive carbon fiber fascia.

Little else is known about the C2, but Salaff says the car will have “mechanical transformations” which will enhance driver involvement. The company went on to say we can expect a retuned suspension and a new throttle body for the naturally-aspirated V10 engine. The C2 will be rear-wheel drive and come equipped with a manual transmission. Speaking of the latter, the company’s engineering partners are developing a “gated shifter conversion” for vehicles equipped with the e.gear transmission.

The C2 will be built in “limited quantities” and customers will have the option of ordering the car with carbon fiber and / or aluminum bodywork.
