‘Touched by Cancer’ book launched at Bhojpur Club

Touched by Cancer: A Tale of a Fight With a Deadly Disease’ is a real life story narrated by cancer survivor Preeti Mishra. The book, ‘Touched by Cancer’ was launched on Thursday at Bhojpur Club.

The book was launched in an event organised by Club Literati. Thus book was published by Indra Publishing House. Cancer is surely not easy to deal with. Fighting Cancer and emerging as a fighter to this deadly disease,. Preeti Mishra has proved that she is not just a strong woman, but also a survivor. Penning her fight with cancer, Mishra speaks of how she came over this patch of her life and the role of her family in the book.

“The book is a complete guide and full of learning experiences of how to fight cancer. Preeti has also included a few recipes on food can help cure cancer. It is tough to fight with such a deadly disease,” President of Club Literati Seema Raizada said.

Recollecting her experience Dr. Preeti said, “I was detected with breast cancer in the year 2015. Initially heartbroken, I then decided to fight with it. My husband Vinay Mishra and my children were the pillars for me during this fight. I couldn’t do the normal household chores, so they completely took over. I lost my hair during chemotherapy. It was not easy, but with the help of my family I completely became cancer free in about a year.”

The book also speaks of which initial symptoms can turn out to be cancer and how not to ignore them. It also tells about the food therapy which has helped Dr. Preeti deal with breast cancer. During the event Pallavi Jain Govil, Health, Food and Safety Commissioner was present as the chief guest. Rajeev Mishra was the moderator and the event was co-ordinated by Ruchi Goyal.
