NEW DELHI: It has been a bad day for RJD chief Lalu Prasad and his family as the Jharkhand high court refused the request of bail extension of Lalu in the fodder scam case and later the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a chargesheet against him in the IRCTC case.

Denying the RJD chief's 3 months bail extension request on medical grounds, the Jharkhand high court on Friday asked Lalu to surrender in jail by August 30.

Meanwhile, the ED filed a chargesheet on Friday against the RJD chief, Rabri Devi and other family members in the IRCTC case.

The case is related to alleged irregularities in granting operational contract of two Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) hotels to a private firm.

Lalu, who is on bail after his conviction in the fodder scam cases, is undergoing treatment at a Mumbai hospital for a few serious ailments.

Yadav's lawyer Prabhat Kumar, reacting to the high court order, said that the RJD leader will now undergo treatment at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences in Ranchi.

"Now he will undergo treatment at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi. He will be brought from Mumbai's Asian Heart Institute where he is currently admitted," he said.
