Mumbai: In order to tender online permissions for the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi, officials from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) instrumental departments will remain present in the offices on their non-working Saturday.

The decision was taken in a meeting held between the umbrella body of all the Ganpati mandals in the city and Mumbai Mayor Vishwanath Mahadeshwar on Thursday. Mahadeshwar said, “Out of 1,463 mandals in the city, 1,133 mandals had submitted their applications. Out of which, we have given permissions to 527 of them.”

The Mayor assured the permissions to the remaining mandals will be given in the coming days. These will be given through online procedure.
