‘Lok Manthan’ to underline intellectual past of India

Four-day extravaganza ‘Lok Manthan-2018’ would be presenting before the people of Jharkhand the glorious and culturally rich history of the country through discussions, debates, speeches and presentations. The event going to be organsied by ‘Prajna Pravah’ between September 27 and 30 in Ranchi is the second edition after the previous one taken place at Bhopal in 2016.

Informing about the concept behind it and schedule of ‘Lok Manthan’, all India coordinator of ‘Prajna Pravah’, J Nandkumar said that the platform given would discuss about the ‘Idea of India’.

“The subject in this edition of the Lok Manthan is ‘Bharat Bhodh-The Idea of India’. Four days of brainstorm would talk about ‘Jan, Gan and Maan’, the light of the past glory of Indian culture and ethos in comparison with present status before all of us. The ‘Prajna Pravah’ would provide platform to the nationalist thinkers and workers along with artists from different streams to share their views,” he said addressing a press conference on Thursday.

Also present on the occasion was Minister of Art, Culture and Youth Affairs Amar Kumar Bauri who said that Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu would inaugurate the programme on September 27 whereas Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has consented to remain present at the closing session on September 30.

“The entire Lok Manthan would take place at Khelgaon. The idea behind organising this has been decolonising Indian minds by focusing richness of art, science, environment, politics etc in a nationalist perspective. Renowned persons from Jharkhand like Digambar Hansda, Ashok Bhagat, VCs of all universities and other intellectual would be participating there,” said Bauri who has been designated as Chairperson of the organising committee.   

Besides Governor Droupadi Murmu and Chief Minister Raghubar Das, noted intellectuals in the field of politics, social sector, academics such as David Frawley, Narsimhanand, Madhav Chitale, Vinay Sahastrabuddhe, Sanjiv Sanyal, Bajranglal Gupta and other would take part into various sessions having discussions over vision of India to see the world and vice versa, economic philosophy of ancient and present India, relevance of the idea of India etc.
