MPLAD fund UCs not submitted in Baleswar

A review meeting on the utilisation of MPLAD fund was held under the chairmanship of MP RK Jena.

Besides Jena, Bhadrak MP Arjun Charan Sethi, district Collector Ramesh Chandra Rout, PD DRDA Trilochan Pradhan, CDMO Vivekananda Das, Sub-Collector AS Aboli, besides officials of the administration and EOs of the urban local bodies were present in the meeting.

Jena expressed concern over non utilisation of fund and non submission of utilisation certificate (UC) in time. He said UCs for 13 per cent of allotted fund was not submitted.  He said fresh funds are not released since UCs are not submitted within the time period.

After reviewing progress of various projects for the fiscal years 2014-15,  2015-16 , 2016-17  and  2017-18, including complete, partially complete projects in Simulia, Soro and Khaira , stress was laid on returning the amount of the disputed projects which couldn’t be undertaken due to some reason or other by August end.

Further, the officials were directed that the funds allotted for the projects which couldn’t be undertaken due to certain reasons, the same could be utilised for other projects.

“Since the funds are not released in the want of submission of UCs, the officials should be careful on the aspect,” said district Collector Rout told.
