Jogi starts poll campaign from Banjari temple

Former Chief Minister and Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (JCC) (J) Supremo, Ajit Jogi, on Thursday kicked off his poll campaign for upcoming assembly polls with first phase of ‘Vijay Yatra’ from Banjari Temple in Birgaon of Raipur Rural assembly constituency.

In the first phase of his Yatra , the ‘Vijay Rath’ would pass through 10 of the assembly constituency areas and will culminate at Mahamaya Temple at Ratanpur on August 28. Road shows and public meetings would be organized under the campaign at different places.

Talking to media persons before starting the campaign, Jogi declared that if his party forms the next Government after upcoming elections in the State,  it will provide Rs 2500 Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy, 100% reservations for local youth in government employment and 90% reservation in private sector industries.

“Apart from it, we also promise to impose complete prohibition in terrain area of the State, deposit of Rs one lakh in account of every girl child born in BPL family which would have joint account with District Collectors and will mature to Rs 10 Lakh after the child had attained the age of 18 years, he said.  For businessmen of the state, the GST would be curtailed to half and the excise duty would be exempted, he said.

Other than that, we will provide land titles to the urban as well as rural persons on the land they are residing, Jogi added.

Meanwhile, on other hand, in what could be termed as a major setback to JCC (J), its Youth Wing President Vinod Tiwari along with his hundreds of supporters left the party and joined Congress.

Tiwari joined Congress before Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Bhupesh Baghel at his birthday function in Patan.
