Lt. Governor Kiran Bedi said she would hold a video-conference with officials of the Mahe administration on August 31, to address issues concerning people there.
In a message after her recent visit to Mahe, she said an open house was held to listen to public grievances. Around 50 petitions were received from the public and most of the complaints were pertaining to health and education. The challenges faced by non-resident Indians were also taken up, she said in the message.
Ms. Bedi began her visit with a cycle rally, to spread the message of ‘Mahe-Connect’. Officials, student volunteers and political leaders joined the rally.
The Lt. Governor said cycle rallies would be held every week, to spread the message.
The rally was followed by a meeting with officials of all departments. Mahe legislator Ramachandran, regional administrator Manickadeepan and Municipal Commissioner Aman Sharma were present.
