Ghaziabad: A 28-year-old man was found murdered with his throat slit at home in Nandgram on Thursday morning. The victim’s 50-year-old mother, who was the only other person present at their one BHK ground-floor house at the time of the alleged murder, claimed she did not hear any sound, but saw an acquaintance leaving with something hidden in his hand.
The alleged murder took place around 8.30am. The deceased has been identified as Bharat Dhingra, a dealer of electronic goods. His father Satish Dhingra works for a mining company and was away at Mumbai for some official work. Bharat’s mother Kamlesh was busy in household chores when she claimed to have seen the acquaintance leaving the house.

“The woman said she saw a man leaving the room with one of his hands covered with a piece of cloth. We suspect it was a sharp-edged weapon he was carrying. By the time she tried to speak to him, he had left the house. She went to her son’s room and found him on the floor, bleeding. His throat was slit,” said Sanjay Kumar Pandey, SHO (Sihani Gate).

Kamlesh raised an alarm and neighbours flocked to the house. The police were informed. The body was sent for an autopsy. “We have gathered some substantial clues from the spot. An FIR has been lodged under Section 302 (mother) of the IPC on the basis of the complaint by the family. Efforts are being made to nab the person named in the FIR,” Pandey said.
