Raman: Daughters to become medium of social change

Daughters would become medium of social change. The daughters studying in college has come forward as volunteers so that they can give bit time to rural areas and they can provide information on state government schemes for rural women, said Chief Minister Raman Singh. He was inaugurating the ‘Mahila Shakti Kendra Scheme-Asmita’ at Rajnandgaon district headquarters on Thursday. It is one-stop centre for women.

Chief Minister said that in 11 Aspirational Districts the centres are to be opened. “When I met the girls, they have deep rooted sense of service and energy. They would do big by spreading awareness. Women and child development department on working for 200 hours, they would be given Rs 10,000 as honorarium and Citation,” he added.

The one-stop centre would not only provide benefits of government schemes to women but would resolve their application in time-bound.

Women and child development minister Ramsheela Sahu said that development chariot runs with cooperation on two wheels of woman-man. Daughters are making their mark in every sector and government is also running many schemes for their welfare. There has been remarkable change in attitude of people towards the girls.

Secretary, women and child welfare M Geetha said that under the scheme in each block 100 volunteers have been selected. She said under direction of Chief Minister in state massive drive is underway to eradicate malnutrition. Anganbadi workers, anganbadi friends, suposhan mitr’s are being felicitated.

Rajnandgaon collector Bheem Singh said that under ‘Sawartha Bachpan’ milk and eggs are being served to the children for nutrition. In district around 800 volunteers are ready. A coffee table book and guidance book of Centre was released.

Rajnandgaon MP Abhishek Singh, MLA Sarojani Banjare among others was present.
