Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday appointed nine secretaries, including Gujarat OBC leader Alpesh Thakore.
Shakeel Ahmed Khan, an MLA from Bihar, has been made an All India Congress Committee (AICC) secretary for Jammu and Kashmir; Rajesh Dhamani for Uttarakhand and B.P. Singh, Mohd Jawaid and Sarat Raut secretaries for West Bengal.
Alpesh Thakore, who joined the Congress last year ahead of the Gujarat Assembly election, has been made the AICC secretary for Bihar. Challa Vamshi Chand Reddy and B.M. Sandeep are new secretaries for Maharashtra.
Sanjay Dutt, a former MLC, has been made secretary in charge of Tamil Nadu.
The Congress chief also appointed Deepak Rathod from Himachal Pradesh and Rajpal Bisht from Uttarakhand as members of the screening committee for Mizoram.
“Congress president Rahul Gandhi has appointed Aditi Singh, MLA Rae Bareli Sadar (Uttar Pradesh) as general secretary of All India Mahila Congress,” said a statement from AICC general secretary incharge of organisation and training, Ashok Gehlot.
