Hry CM takes part in Asthi Visarjan of Vajpayee

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal on Thursday performed ‘Asthi Visarjan’ ritual of former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna, Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee, at two places namely Pehowa (Kurukshetra) and in Hathnikund Barrage (Yamunanagar) in the state.

Manohar Lal, while interacting with mediapersons after performing the ritual said, “Former Prime Minister Vajpayee was a great leader who, by rising above the party, always served for the nation. To pay real tribute, we should follow the ideals of Vajpayee.”

Replying to a question, he said that after the approval of the Central Government, big projects would be named after Vajpayee in the state.

The State Government has sent a proposal to the Centre to name three major projects namely KMP Expressway, Gurugram’s Global City and Hisar Airport on the name of former PM Vajpayee

 He said that since August 16, the entire nation is mourning the death of Vajpayee. His ashes are being immersed in 100 rivers across the country, Manohar Lal said.

The Chief Minister said that two Kalash Yatras were started in Haryana including one for Pehowa and other for Hathnikund Barrage from Bahadurgarh on Wednesday to immerse ashes at two places.

The State Government will organize a state level ‘Shradhanjali Sabha’ on August 24 at Rohtak to pay tribute to Vajpayee.
