Sangh leaders meet CM and others

Issues like better coordination between different saffron organisations and the State Ggovernment were discussed during a day-long meeting convened by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) at Swami Ramtheerth Ashram near Kuthal Gate on Thursday. The Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat was closeted with the RSS functionaries during a closed door meeting during which the RSS leaders are understood to have given directions to the State Government on issues like disaster management and mitigation plans firmed up by the State Government and the public feedback. It is learnt that Sangh leaders and the members of the RSS’s frontal organisations gave their feedback to the Government on many issues while suggesting necessary changes. The meeting has assumed significance in view of the forthcoming urban local body election. An official communiqué suggests that members of 29 RSS-affiliated organisations attended the session.

Addressing the meeting, the regional pracharak (Western UP and Uttarakhand) Alok said that the country can be strengthened through promotion of communication and coordination. He called upon the members of different organisations to engage in public awareness programmes so as to effectively take on the anti-national elements. He also exhorted the saffron activists to render all kinds of assistance to the rain-ravaged people of Kerala. In his address, CM Rawat called upon the members present to strive to free the State from the menace of drug abuse.

It was decided that Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh would set up units in all the educational institutes right from the primary level to the college level. Pravasi Panchayat, the organisation of  the migrant Uttarakhandis, made a call for observance of Himalaya Day. It stressed that the natives of Uttarakhand residing outside the State should visit their ancestral villages at least once in a year.

The members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Rashtriya Sewa Bharati, Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, Krida Bharati, Devbhumi Vichar Manch, Rashtriya Sevika Samiti, Vishwa Ayurveda Parishad, Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh and Vidhya Bharati  among others gave a detailed account of their activities  during the programme.

The meeting was attended by the State BJP chief Ajay Bhatt, Cabinet Ministers-Satpal Maharaj, Yashpal Arya, Madan Kaushik and Subodh Uniyal, ministers of State-Rekha Arya and Dhan Singh Rawat, prant pracharak Yudhvir and prant  karyavah Dinesh Semwal.
